About The Artist:
Christine Vaillancourt was selected in 2014 as the artist for the new MBTA GLX station at Ball Square, Somerville, MA. Now open to the public in Dec 2022, Christine’s art may be seen on the glass of the outdoor elevator and on two 4’x8’ porcelain enamel on steel on the platforms. More info and photos.
Christine Vaillancourt received the Best in Show Award at Newport Art Museum, RI, in 2003, resulting in a one-person exhibition at the museum in 2004 titled “Techno-Retro." In 2009, her painting was awarded Juror's Choice in Painting at the juried exhibition at the Provincetown Art Museum. In 2019 Christine had a one-person exhibition at the Mayor’s Gallery, Boston City Hall. In 2022, she curated a show for the artists at all seven new GLX stations at the FPAC Gallery at The Artist Building at 300 Summer Street, Boston
Vaillancourt has exhibited in the United States and Canada.
